John Bottomley

     John Bottomley has been playing pipes since 1963.  In the seventies he was a member of the Grade 1 Guelph Pipe Band, followed by six years leading the Baile More Pipes and Drums in New York City.  More recently he played in the Lehigh Valley Pipe Band and served as the Pipe Sergeant of Oran Mor Pipe Band. 

     For the past twenty years, he was been a successful Open competitor in the EUSPBA, specializing in piobaireachd.  He is currently the chair of the EUSPBA’s judge’s panel, and the Music Board's Piping Ensemble subcommittee chair.  He has performed solo concerts at the Eagle Tavern, NYC, and appearing onstage at Carnegie Hall with Kevin Kline in NYC Shakespeare in the Park and at the Boston Pops.
